![]() The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh/Winnie the Pooh 2011. The film quickly shows how Brazilian and Mexican cultures are different, which is something most non-latinos don't get they think all our cultures are the same just because we share the language and a little bit of history I also think the music is great and it's nice to see genuine latin american culture in a Disney film, even if it's small. Jose and Panchito are just so adorable and enjoyable. The Three Caballeros- It's probably not a very good movie in terms of plot, but the three main leads are adorable and some of my favorites ever. I feel modern audiences would enjoy it as much as when it came out in the 40s. ![]() The characters are all memorable and I like the scary atmosphere the movies carries around itself. From the memorable characters to the score and the layout of the castle, it's just wonderful to me. The remake was also pretty good, but I kinda wish the two films fused together into one complete version, since i felt what one lacked the other had it in spades. The jungle is also very nicely animated (for once the sketchy style fits the look of the movie) and the music is very catchy. I just love them and how natural their interactions are. This one gets to me purely because of the characters. Yeah, not a film many would put on their top 10s, but this is my list and I can do whatever I want with it, public perception be damned. The climax is exciting and the music is super enjoyable. Easily the most stylized disney film ever, and i just can't get enough of its setting, ever since i was a kid i wanted to get lost in those woods and eerie castle. it can be a little dated, but it's still super enjoyable.īeautiful. The animation, the music, the characters (well, not all, but Genie, Jafar, and Iago easily steal the show). ![]() Of course, as a kid i was more into it but I still enjoy it. It's a simple story, yeah, but sometimes a movie doesn't need to follow a big epic story to be good. The animation is absolutely fantastic and the music really gels well with the movie without being a "musical" strictly speaking. I have to be in the right mood to watch this one, because otherwise it gets me very emotional, but overall i think it's one of Walt's best. The two main leads are very likable and it's easy to see why they became iconic (and their romance is natural and doesn't have unhealthy/abusive/creepy undertone, so I'm okay with people tagging them as "relationship goals"). I can still watch it nowadays and not get tired of it.Ħ- The Nightmare Before Christmas- I feel this is one of the most "fairy-tallish" movie they've got, considering the timeless aspect the film has and the lack of pop-culture references and the like. It's just gorgeous and easy to get immersed on.ħ- The Little Mermaid- The one that started it all! Most people say every Disney takes cues from Snow White, and while that is true, I think modern Disney takes almost most of their elements out of this film- from the humor, to the characters, to the themes of "wanting" and the moving action/third act structure. But TLM does it good, the characters all play well the parts the story needs. The combination of classical music with art is really creative and fitting, and I think modern movies need a new Fantasia nowadays, since they're just way too play-safe and commercial for my liking. The music is also really catchy.Ĩ- Fantasia / Fantasia 2000- Very beautiful, and the one thing that I feel Disney was truly "original" on. I just love how an overall simple woman had a lot of power and drove the story along, comparing she struggled against a cast of gods and demigods. I love all the winks and nods they make to the original greek myths, and the characters are really likable- Hades is charming, Hercules and Meg is my favorite Disney girl bar none. I think the captured of the book well, and it really helps how they showed the story in a more "visual" sense, while the book obviously relied more on language to describe the "wonder" of it all.ĩ- Hercules- I love it! Probably my favorite of the post Lion King films. So without further ado, here are my favorites.ġ0- Alice in Wonderland- It's so original, and I feel it's the only Alice in Wonderland adaptation that isn't a borefest. ![]() I'm excited for Moana, the songs, the characters sound so charming, and it feels like a genuine classic Disney film of the 90s, very similar to Aladdin, which would make me happy. These kind of articles are kinda passeé, but there's never anything wrong to do them once in a while.
